Where I Stand

Plain answers, no slogans.

I'm a Texan who loves this country. You deserve straight answers, so here they are.

  • National Defense

America needs the strongest military in the world and a defense industry built in America, with parts and software we can trust. My father served in the U.S. Army, and I saw what that service meant to him and to our family. We owe those who serve the equipment, the pay, and the care they were promised.

  • Counter-Drone Protection

I support building counter-drone defenses for our critical infrastructure, like the power grid, water systems, and defense sites. Protecting these assets protects the American way of life and everything Americans have built.

  • Border Security

The border should be secure, and legal entry should be available to people who have applied and been approved. That is the standard every other country in the world expects and enforces.

  • Protecting American Land

Foreign adversaries should not be allowed to buy land in the United States, especially near critical infrastructure and defense assets. That means the governments of nations that threaten us, and the companies they control.

Protecting our land is part of protecting our country.

  • Gun Rights

I'm pro-gun, and I believe in the Second Amendment. The right to keep and bear arms belongs to law-abiding Texans, and I'll defend it.

  • American Jobs and Manufacturing

Federal spending should build things in America. When tax dollars create jobs here and strengthen our industrial base, everyone benefits. When they flow overseas, or to companies tied to foreign adversaries, we lose.

I support spending on programs that bring jobs and manufacturing back to the United States, and I believe we must protect our tax dollars from foreign adversaries who look to harm us and our way of life.

  • Property Taxes and Cost of Living

Texans shouldn't lose their homes to a tax bill. I want to cut and cap property taxes: bigger homestead exemptions, tighter limits on how fast appraisals can rise, and a long-term goal of eliminating school property taxes for homeowners.

I'll show how it's paid for before I ask for your vote: state surplus and spending discipline, not hidden new taxes on working families.

  • Schools and School Choice

I support school choice. Parents, not bureaucrats, know what's best for their children, and every family should have options. I'll also fight to keep our public schools, teachers, and rural districts strong.

  • Energy, Water, and Data Centers

The power grid needs more corporate investment, and large data centers should help pay for it. Approval of a data center should be tied to that investment, so ordinary Texans aren't left with the bill or the risk.

Data center water systems should be self-cycling, with no draw on the water table or on publicly available water supplies.

  • Public Safety

Public safety is a top priority, especially as AI and our dependence on public infrastructure create new risks for Texas families.

  • AI, Online Safety, and Cybersecurity

Cybersecurity is national security. Our power grid, hospitals, water systems, and small businesses are under attack every day, and AI makes those attacks faster and cheaper.

I support safety rules that protect children from AI and that protect critical thinking: honest disclosure when AI is used, strong limits on how AI chatbots deal with minors, and human judgment in our classrooms. I'll oppose rules that would only hand the future to our rivals.

  • Protecting Seniors

Older Americans built this country, and they shouldn't lose their savings to scammers. I already volunteer to teach seniors how to recognize phone fraud, fake tech support, and AI voice cloning, and I'd carry that fight into law.

I want Texas to put dedicated staff and funding behind investigating scams that target seniors, with tougher penalties for the people who run them. I also want banks to have a clear duty to flag and pause suspicious transfers from older customers.

  • Skilled Through Alternative Routes

I built my career through certifications and hard work, not a diploma. Millions of Texans do the same. Hiring and opportunity should reward what you can do, so I support more apprenticeships and technical training.

  • Life

I believe all life is sacred, and I believe abortion should be illegal in Texas. My view comes from my Christian faith and from the principle at the heart of our founding that every person has a right to life.

I support Texas's strong protections for life. I understand exceptions when the mother's life is at risk, and I would support adding exceptions for rape and incest, with clear legal protection for doctors who act within those exceptions and meet the legal requirements.

The responsibility belongs to the provider who performs the procedure, not the woman. Providers should be held accountable and liable for their decisions, and should live up to the Hippocratic oath to protect life.

I support adoption. I want to make it more affordable and to support the nonprofits that help families adopt, and I'll work across party lines on it.

  • Privacy and Freedom from Surveillance

I do not support Flock cameras or any government monitoring of individuals. Law-abiding Americans should not be tracked by their government.

The same goes for retail chains. I oppose using similar systems to track consumers without their consent or to fix prices.

  • Faith and Freedom

I'm a Christian, and I believe in the principles the Founders built into our country: that our rights come from God, and that government exists to protect them. Every American should be free to live out their faith, or no faith, without government interference.

How I'll Make Decisions

How I'll do the job.

  1. Listen first. I'll hold open conversations across my community, including places that didn't vote for me.
  2. Start with the problem. I'll find the root cause before I pick a fix, and I'll build solutions that work for everyone they affect, not just one group.
  3. Be open about conflicts. I work at a technology company that serves the defense industry. If I hold public office, I'll disclose my employment and income, get advice on any vote that could affect my employer, and step aside where the rules require it.
  4. Read the details. I'll read the bill before I vote on it.
  5. Tell the truth. If I change my mind, I'll tell you why. If I don't know something, I'll say so.
  6. Show my work. I'll explain major decisions in plain English.
  7. I'll work with anyone. Most bills pass when people who disagree find common ground. I'll work with anyone on how to get something done, but I won't give up my principles to get a deal.
